Frequently Asked Questions

  • Choosing to begin therapy can be a difficult decision. It can also be an empowering decision and the first step toward change. I encourage you to reach out so we can have a brief conversation to see if therapy is right for you and if I might be the right therapist for you. If I believe I can be of help, we can schedule an initial appointment. Otherwise, after speaking, if I believe you may have a more effective experience with another therapist, I will gladly provide you with referrals.

  • Your healing and your process toward greater self-awareness are very personal. In my opinion, there is no pre-determined length of time for your therapy journey. Some people begin to feel relief of symptoms after a few sessions, and continued exploration may lead to deeper growth and change. Some people come to therapy to work through a specific issue, and some people do best with a consistent space for reflection and view regular therapy as a form of self-care. Sessions are 50 minutes long and we begin by meeting once per week. Coming to therapy on a regular, consistent basis is most effective for change to occur. I offer multiple sessions a week for clients needing more support or who want to do deeper work.

  • My fee is $200 per 50 minute individual therapy session.
I reserve a limited number of reduced fee slots in my schedule for clients in need. If I am not able to accommodate your needs, I am happy to offer referrals for lower fee therapy.

  • I am not an in-network provider with insurance and do not bill insurance for treatment. I can provide a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to find out what reimbursement will look like for an out-of-network provider, and whether services rendered by an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist may be reimbursed.

  • Clients are seen by appointment only. I have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. Please give at least 48 hours advance notice to avoid being charged a late cancellation fee equivalent to your usual fee for appointments.

  • I offer sessions via tele-health in an effort to make therapy as accessible as possible. These live video sessions are conducted in the same way as in-person therapy - just via video conferencing instead. I use a secure HIPAA platform so you can be confident about your privacy and confidentiality.

  • Currently I am only licensed to provide therapy services to clients who reside in California.

  • I welcome you to reach out by phone or email to set up an initial 15 minute call. Please include your name, phone number and some good times to reach you.
